Practicum Information
To be considered for an internship or practicum with the Sexual Assault Resource Center, please mail a cover letter and professional resume to our office at PO Box 3082 Bryan, TX 77805. Attention: Anna Chowdury.
Location: The Sexual Assault Resource Center; Bryan, Texas
SARC is looking for graduate students that are responsible, can work efficiently, understand the confidential nature of our field, and are willing to learn about our field. A certain amount of sensitivity is required for this site, but students will have limited interaction with clientele.
Students will have the opportunity to help review and create educational materials on sexual violence and primary prevention topics and present the materials to local communities and schools. Additionally, the students will be asked to organize and host at least one educational event during the summer term.
In addition to education outreach, the students will also be assisting staff in modifying inter-office forms for data collection and grant reporting, as well as creating surveys for both clients and staff to assess counseling services.
Students will be also given the opportunity to participate in our advocate training class should they want to incorporate client services in their practicum, however direct client services will not be a mandatory part or focus at their time at the agency.
Because the Sexual Assault Resource Center provides services to the 7 county area, students should expect to be responsible for traveling to these areas.
For students interested in this opportunity or for more information, please send a resume and contact:
