The Brazos County Rape Crisis Center, Inc. d/b/a the Sexual Assault Resource Center is a 501c(3) non-profit organization, which began operations in 1983. This Center assists everyone regardless of gender, sexual orientation, race, ability, age, national origin, or religion. This Center complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act and will provide reasonable accommodations upon request to people with disabilities.

SARC provides FREE individual, couples, family, and group counseling with licensed clinicians and trained counselors for survivors of sexual violence and their families and friends.  We work with survivors and their loved ones to find their strengths, to understand the impact of trauma on their lives, to build and use coping skills, and to explore ways to heal and thrive.


*Please note that those seeking counseling must be 13 years or older. Scotty's House 
serves children in the Brazos Valley.*


Our counselors can provide to survivors and family members:

  • Short or Long-term individual counseling 

  • Individual consultations for friends, partners, and family of survivors (we want you to be supported so you can better support the person you care about)

  • Couples counseling for survivors and their partners

  • Family counseling for families impacted by sexual violence

  • A wide variety of support groups (list of groups offered year-round by SARC) 


New clients can expect: 

  • Copy of Informed Consent Form (English & Spanish) 

  • Release Authorization Form (English & Spanish)

  • No bill -- FREE counseling

The Rights of VOC


SARC offers year-round the following support groups: ​​​

  • Men's Survivors Group (Brazos, Grimes & Madison County)
    An environment where men can feel safe to discuss sexual assault.

  • Woman's Survivors Group (Brazos, Grimes & Madison County)
    An environment where women can feel safe to discuss sexual assault.  This group will integrate writing, art, and explore courage, vulnerability, and authenticity in healing.

  • Horticulture Therapy Group​ (Brazos)
    Horticulture is a unique source of restoration and healing after sexual assault.  This group will provide a safe and confidential environment so that growth can occur.

  • Dialectic Behavioral Therapy Group​ (Brazos)
    Skills class for trauma survivors and secondary survivors.  Skills include mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. 

  • Art Nights are held once a month.  Join us for a fun evening of creating art!  Food will be provided and all of the supplies you will need to create something beautiful!
