VOLUNTARIO
Como voluntario/a de SARC, brindarás apoyo y defensa cruciales a las sobrevivientes de violencia sexual. Nuestros voluntarios atienden la línea directa disponible las 24 horas y se reúnen personalmente con sobrevivientes de agresión sexual en hospitales cercanos, agencias del orden público y juzgados.
DEFENSOR VOLUNTARIO
Volunteer Advocates are required to attend a 40-hour Office of the Attorney General training course provided by SARC. Advocates commit to a minimum of 2 shifts per month providing services through our hotline or accompaniment programs to survivors of sexual violence.
Process for Becoming a Volunteer Advocate

Submit Application: Begin by submitting your application through Better Impact.

Complete New Volunteer Orientation: Watch the New Volunteer Orientation video, available on Better Impact, to familiarize yourself with the program and expectations.

Interview: Our Volunteer Coordinator will contact you to schedule an interview.

Background Check: A background check and reference follow-up will be conducted as part of the screening process.

Acceptance Decision: After reviewing your application and interview, our Volunteer Team will contact you regarding your next steps with the SARC Volunteer Program.
Once Accepted:

Complete Volunteer Training: The Volunteer Coordinator will contact you and schedule your official Volunteer Training. The training consists of 40 hours of instruction, which includes 3 weeks of in-person classes (Monday through Thursday, 5:30 PM - 8:30 PM) as well as self-paced study. The in-person classes are offered several times throughout the year.

Become an Active Advocate: Upon successful completion of your training, you will be officially approved as an active volunteer advocate with SARC, ready to make a positive impact in the lives of survivors.
